Bringing Retro Back With Edwin Clothing

One thing that is always constant in the world of fashion is that everything is cyclical. Old styles are constantly being reintroduced and re-imagined with current trends for retro throwbacks. There are many different brands that specialize in this type of clothing. Here are some of the main types of retro fashions available and the designers that are resurrecting them.

Retro Tops

Edwin Clothing has a SS Gasoline t-shirt with an old style logo across the chest replicating old gas station signs from the 50’s. It has a royal blue base color with a red and white logo across the front. This shirt along with many others available from Edwin clothing are all machine washable and pre-shrunk when purchased.

Another type of retro shirt that is coming back into demand is the flannel shirt. Edwin’s LS Akira and Shin LS long sleeve both feature a two color plaid design. The LS Akira is available in blue and grey as well as black and grey. The Edwin Shin LS Shirt 2 comes in a burgundy and red color scheme. These shirts are long sleeve and have 2 patch pockets on either side of the chest. Both shirts are machine washable and pre shrunk as well.

For other options in retro tops you can look to the Junk De Luxe Nat or Reuben Cardigan sweaters. Both sweaters feature an old style pattern. The Nat cardigan is green and grey while the Reuben is available in white and blue. These sweaters can be worn by themselves or over a t-shirt or button up shirt for a more formal retro look.

Retro Jackets

Also available for the retro look of the 50’s and 60’s is the Edwin Left Field Jacket. In the style of high school letter jackets everywhere this black jacket has authentic leather sleeves and a distinct retro look to go with any casual outfit. The Nudie Conny Dry Denim Jacket is another type of throwback piece to the eighties. It is a thin cut denim jacket with two chest pockets and a dark blue denim color offset by the contrast light gold stitching. The stitching carries over to the back of the jack with a logo stitched across the upper back yoke of the jacket.

Retro Hats

For a different style of retro clothing you can try one of the many old style hats available as well. The Luke 1977 Baker Boy Cap has a clip down front, is made from tweed fabric, and comes in a dark grey tweed pattern. The Brixton Brood Cap provides another authentic old English distinguished style look with a black bill and a light grey Herringbone fabric. The hat also includes a black peak and snap button fastener for a different type of look. One other option to compliment a more formal look is the Penfield Stedham Tweed Cap. This retro tweed hat comes in a khaki shade of color. An adjustable buckle with a Penfield badge make this hat a one size fits all 100% cotton option.
